Ed Cone points his readers to Keith Holliday's piece in the N&R today. Holliday intended to bring clarity to the events that took place when Mitch Johnson locked David Wray out of his office. However, he actually made things worse in my opinion. Holliday attempts to paint Greensboro's most hated City manager, Mitch Johnson, as a man of honor and fairness. The Mayor wrote:
"That misunderstanding is that Wray was forced to resign because City Manager Mitchell Johnson locked him out of his office. City Council has told the real story many times, but an inaccurate version still lingers with some in the community. I will attempt in a limited number of words to explain what actually happened."
That paragraph oozes with questions and adds to the misunderstanding. Why does the Mayor attempt to clear up confusion in a limited forum? He is the Mayor and can call a press conference and unleash as many words as he wants. He chose the limited way to clear up a misunderstanding?
The Mayor reports that Council has been told the real story many times. The real story? Why did the Council hold the "Real story" for this long? The even bigger question is who told the Council the real story? Was it Greensboro City Attorney Linda Miles? Was it the City Manager? Are the people telling this real story credible? Is the Mayor above misleading the public? If you answered yes, you need to watch the video below.
I knew very early in the day that the Greensboro City Council was going to discuss Dianne Bellamy-Small's role in the leak of the RMA report. The mayor knew it too but pretended to not know. Dianne Bellamy-Small was not at that meeting that night either. Are you stupid enough to believe her absence was a coincidence?
Another problem with the Mayor's statement in the video was the fact that Greensboro Attorney, Linda Miles, blatantly lied about talking to the folks at the Institute of Government. The city was caught in this lie and later admitted the mistake and apologized. However, the two letters of explanation were horrible and did not excuse anything. Linda Miles gave her clients info she knew was not correct. Mitch did nothing and the Mayor played along. That is the real story
The Mayor's piece in the N&R also included:"As fate would have it, the manager's act of respect was misinterpreted when someone in the building notified the media that the locks were being changed, leading reporters to converge."
What person in the building notified the media? Was it a Wray supporter? Was it a Wray hater? Was it the legal staff? Was it the city manager? What person in the building called the media and why? Why the Mayor flippantly reported that someone alerted the media without identifying who that person was is extremely odd.
If you do not know by now the Greesnboro City Council slurps up whatever crap Mitch serves them without question you need to go find the nearest short school bus and get on it. It has been proven that the Council has been mislead by the city staff in the past. During the RMA report leak investigation(Video above) the City Attorney lies to the council. The city staff also did not turn over the Walt Jones Letter to city council as Jones requested. Soon to be Mayor, Yvonne Johnson, reported on the Dusty Dunn Show that she was not given a copy of the Walt Jones letter. Jones requested the letter be given to council to clear his name but Council was not given the letter. Carmany has been questioned about it but she has not responded. Typical.
Anytime the Mayor tells the public something he calls a "Real story" put your boots on.

Good to see the mayor come out from under Mitch,s desk. I guess he got a real good pat on the head for that bullshit letter. Who really cares what he has to say.He made his position known long ago.
Dang...there's that woman that wears the underware with a dick hole again. She needs to give them back to the Mayor...brown in back...yellow in front Mr. Mayor...see Mitch for instructions on how to wear.
