More details police shooting

On July 26, 1990, James Paschal Sr. was shot and killed by Greensboro Police Officer Earl Locklear after he charged the officer while holding two knives. James Paschal Sr., who was 29 at the time of his death, was arguing with his wife and in-laws at his residence located at 3912 Afton Drive. Paschal was pronounced dead about 45 minutes after he was shot

Police were called to Paschal’s house that day because neighbors had reported to police that they saw Paschal chasing his wife, Jo-Alice, and her parents around the yard with butcher knives. The fight began because the couple was planning to divorce. The argument became heated when the couple discussed who would obtain custody of their two children, who were aged 3 and 4 at the time.

Last Saturday, James Paschal Jr., the oldest son of James Paschal Sr., was shot and killed by Greensboro Police Officer C.M. Schultheis.

After his father’s death, James Paschal Jr. grew up and became involved in crime in his late teens. He served time and was charged with several different crimes including assault on a police officer, b&e, larceny and robbery with a dangerous weapon. He was most recently charged with several traffic violations as well as assault on a police officer.

Paschal was shot by a Greensboro Police Officer less than 4 miles from where his father was fatally shot by another Greensboro Police Officer 18 years earlier. Police continue to remain silent.

It is bad enough that every time you read the paper or watch the news, police are killing are young men. The real dirty thing about all this mess posted about a father and son killed by the Greensboro Police Department is, no divorce or custody battle in 1990 by Mr and Mrs. James Paschl,Sr. A young man lost his life over having permission to drive the girlfriend car. Has anyone of you thought for a second about the children involved. We have made mistakes in life. James Paschl Jr. was a great dad, friend and son that battled Chron's Disease and being a black male in this racist town.

OK...so you typed all that to say what?????

He was a good kid?
He did not have any brushes with the law????
He was an upstanding citizen????

Get back with me when you can show me a clearly cut case of Police brutality or something of that nature because from what YOU typed about the young man, you seemed to downplay his unlawful history.

NO--it may have been an unfortunate SITUATION but let's be realistic--I wouldn't have bothered to call the police if this man was chasing ANY of my family members around with a knife but I pomise you--the outcome would've been the same.

Get back to me when you can give a clear cut case of racism and or police brutalty!!

SMH @ people STILL refusing to see shit as it is.

Again--put the race card BACK in the deck!!!!

Wasn't Mr. Paschal white? According to the police, he quickly approached an officer who had a gun drawn, and refused to show his hands, and they way the police described, it's like he wanted them to think he had a weapon. I know exactly what they mean because I used the same technique when a car full of hoodlums pulled up and acted like they were about to rob me. As soon as a reached under my shirt, like a had a pistol, they rode off. So I can see how that can happen. I'm not going to drag a dead man's name through the dirt but I know this guy was not an upstanding citizen, that's all I'll say.
