"N&R has nothing."

What else is new? This blog is the place to go for breaking news!

Gee it sure is strange that we find out on a Friday.

Ben,

What are the chances that Joe Williams will order Mitch to overturn this action as he did with Wray's proposal to fire Stacy Morton ?

more to the story? said...

at 3:33pm, a little while after ben posted about the officers being fired, the news & record also posted on their web site that the officers had been fired. but then at 4:41pm, a new story was posted on the n&r site saying that the officers "were recommended to be fired today" and listing their options, which include accepting, appealing and requesting a board of inquiry. so apparently, the decision isn't final yet. this could get really interesting...

Wallace is toast. He crossed the black mafia when he ID'd the godfather in a document. Legrane will get his job back if he appeals and has a good lawyer. Stevens should have been fired. He is a sick puppy. Firing of a bunch of colored "boys" should buy Mitch and Timmy a couple of months in good graces with the "rednecks" but both need to be looking for employment.

I don't trhink this is over by a longgggggggggg shot. I see three black police officers in Joe Williams office working up a stratagy for a racial discrimination suit. I'm sure the black, powers to be, are not going to sit still for this no matter who threw who under the bus. Yes indeed it's going to be very interesting.

I will believe it when I see wallace and the other two turn their stuff in while holding the classified section of the paper.I think this is just Mitch being allowed to talk a big game by the black powers to be and that all 3 will appeal and keep their jobs. I say its a done deal and this is just appeasement....call me a skeptic

If Calvin is smart, he will distance himself from the other two.

Apparently there is only one blogger here who knows what they are talking about and probably because they are an officer. Officer Legrand is not using Joe Williams get your facts straight. He is actually using a white attorney. Secondly, not all three of the suspended officers are in the same social network as the Chief and Assistant Chief Rogers. Thirdly, only one of the officers, Legrand, actually had a good reputation prior to this incident. He is the only one of the three not to be associated with prostitutes and informants and not to be demoted twice, and unlike Stevens did not lie during this investigation. So who should be distancing themselves from who? If you don’t know the facts, and don’t personally know the people involved, don’t judge and don’t make assumptions.

Wallace should have been gone years ago when he was caught lying about Evidence. If that weren't enough, he should have been canned when he used Federal Forfiture funds to buy a lap dance for himself at the hotel on Burnt Poplar Rd. Ron Rogers swept that under the rug for him. Wallace was sent to make a prostitution case, and instead got a lap dance, which we all know is legal. Had that been anyone else other than a "Friend of Ron" they would have been charged with Embezzlement...using company assets under your control for personal gain. Just like taking money out of the till.

Ben,

It's time to start deleting comments -- unless you are eager to see your blog become a joke.

It is just a matter of due process. That is why Cawn put out the email. It is for damage control and rumor control. If they were "terminated" they were called in and told that a termination package is being recommended. They then are given 5working days to:
a)resign and save face
b)appeal like a bitch
c)take it like a man

Wallace should have been gone, he was one of the dirtiest officers on the force, he hangs in questionable areas and frolics with questionable characters in order to make a bust and steal most of the evidence and profit from it...and he is not alone in this either....to be continued...
