"It is infuriating to watch a group of white businessmen in suits stand before city council to discuss this sham of an investigation into the so called "secret tapings" of black leaders in our community. GPD as well as Mitch Johnson absolutely have first hand knowledge of the truth. They have continued to twist and misuse the truth because it keeps things at a steady simmer and allows them to appear politcally correct while they, as anonymous said, walk the halls and feign indignation. While I may have to sign in as anonymous, I am not. My name is Cathleen Vance and I was the GPD employee that was commissioned by my captain Rick Ball to help with an investigation reference a High Point task force employee named Delilah Summers. Captain Gary Hastings at the time was well aware of the specifics of this investigation and participated by providing an altered document to be used as bait.
I have copious amounts of information reference this so called investigation but at the time this debauchery was in full swing I was told by Chief Bellamy that I could not speak to anyone about
this matter and that I could not mention Rick Balls name or I would be fired from my job. I had to sit back in fear and loathing and listen to GPD spill lies and half truths to the media as well as city council. I sat through over 3 hours of intense interrogation while internal affairs officers T.Davis and D.Stewart tried without success to get me to say that Scott Sanders put me up to this. I was more than willing to take a polygraph test to prove the truth, however, it did not take long to realize that the "truth" was not what GPD was after. They will continue to use this so called "secret taping" to deceive the public for their own gain. Ben Holder, Rick Ball and Jerry Bledsoe have been instrumental in their attempts to glean the truth and I thank them. I am still waiting for Chief Bellamy to 'clear my good name' as he promised on numerous occassions. I am sure I will be waiting a long time."

Did anyone else hear the press conference yesterday? Did the Chief actually say that the homicides were all black on black crime? Are any suspects in custody or even being sought? How can anyone jump to that conclusion? Where is the outrage?

The manner in which Cathy Vance was treated by the Greensboro Police Department and the City of Greensboro is outrageous and heartbreaking.
From Cathy’s beginnings as a volunteer with the GPD and later as a full-time employee, she distinguished herself as an outstanding and dedicated worker who truly loved her job. Literally, every commanding officer she ever worked for had nothing but glowing comments about her personally and the quality of her work. Cathy was the perfect fit for the position of Violent Crimes Task Force Coordinator.
I couldn’t help but imagine, as I read Jerry Bledsoe’s article on this incident, that I was witnessing an innocent person being victimized – much like a wife being emotionally and physiologically abused by the husband who supposedly loves and cares for her over an issue that isn’t even true. Regrettably in my 27 years in law enforcement, I witnessed far too many incidents like this. Those situations made me sick and angry then and even more so now.
Why did this happen? Why didn’t Internal Affairs and Chief Bellamy believe Captain Rick Ball when he quickly stepped forward to explain the situation? Why did Cathy Vance have to go through the ordeal of an IA interrogation when the truth was already known? Why did Chief Bellamy and the City Manager go public with information that, at best, was incomplete? These are all legitimate questions worthy of answers.
Maybe I’m naïve, but I refuse to believe that the citizens of Greensboro feel that what happened to Cathy Vance was in the public’s good.

I'm not taking anything away from Ms. Vance--if she was treated unfair then by all means, there should be reprecussions and restitution on her part.

Thank you again for taking a stance. You may be the only one that can put all of this to rest. We do not need council members, lawsuits, or any other things to produce the truth. You just need to tell your side of the story as it pertains to the surveillance of others. Who asked you to record others? Who were you suppose to record and who actually was recorded? What was the purpose of the recordings or what did someone expect to gain from recording others? What if any information did you gain from those you recorded? What explanation was given to you that led you to record others? Who did you give the recordings to? Tell your story and you may very well end all of this nonsense.

I have no loyalty to Capt. Lojko. I've never met the man, and I wouldn't know him if I met him on the street. All that I know is that you are attacking his integrity and honesty, and you are not willing to even establish any credibility. and, you are attacking Ms. Vance's honesty as well. It seems that taking pot shots unseen is the way things are done in Greensboro. It sounds to me as though you are one of those individuals that have been part of the problem at GPD.
