The party at the Police Club located on Air Harbor Road took place on Friday night and continued after midnight. Shortly after midnight, Ahmed Blake and his girlfriend went outside to the parking lot and began arguing. Their argument soon became physical. At this time, SGT. Craig Myrick's (NC Justice Academy) date went outside and noticed the altercation and decided to break it up. When she became involved in the altercation, Blake assaulted her. Blake was intoxicated when the incident took place. After the assaults took place police were called and SGT. Norman Rankin came to the Police Club to deal with the situation. How he dealt with the situation is not clear at this time. However, there are several rules that need to be talked about. Police cannot become intoxicated outside of their home while they have their firearm.
How many drunk police had their firearms that night? If a cop assaults his wife or girlfriend they are supposed to be arrested on the spot. There are no rules allowing anything else. There may be several infractions that took place at the birthday party and the police department should address them all swiftly and fairly. It is obvious that there are some substance abuse issues, anger issues and issues with following the rules of the department that need to be addressed. It has also been rumored that some high ranking police attended this party.

Damn! Were you there? You are forgetting one tiny part. How many city vehicles were in the parking lot that night? can cops get liquored up with a city vehicle? I am hearing the high ranking cop was the Notorious PIG Ron Rogers.
Minor correction on one point - there is no rule or law requiring immediate arrest unless it is for violation of a Domestic Violence Order (50-B).
Do you know whose birthday party it was, nanes of guests? Do you have membership list of the club or financial records concerning charitable activities? If there was the quantity of alcohol insinuated at this function a permit should have been issued by the ABC. Are there any records of puchases for this event?
They have a lot of members including many retired officers. They also have a lot of money because they sell BBQ every fall and raise thousands of dollars. Even though the club started out as a segregated club barring women and blacks, they have always done community projects and the allow members of the community to use their building. This was a private event and BYOB and no permit was required. The police club is a good thing even though some who attend functions there might do wrong.
Might do wrong??? Come on people, wake up and realize that our police have gone unchecked for years, I wouldn't doubt for a minute that their are gang members or associates on the department. I'm the same one that was arrested by Blake in 2002 for carrying a tiny pocketknife, in a car, on my way home from work. I'm not the one to take pleasure from other's misfortunes, but it is high time that the bullies of this city(council, leadership, half the police) pay the piper. Let's drive ALL the miscreants out of here and take our city back. Flood the papers and the news with our concerns, DAILY, other folks will take notice and get involved. As for Blake, I hope he goes to jail.
