More Chief Miller

Chief Miller has some splainin' to do. There is a wonderful collection of videos available online that captures battles between Chief Miller and former GPD Captain, Charles Cherry. One particular video is very interesting and warrants a closer look. In the video, Miller becomes rattled when Rev. Cardes Brown asks him questions about Cherry. Miller claims that Cherry was handled fairly and by the book just as every other officer had been in the past thirty years.
What is fascinating is the date of the meeting was Nov, 4 2010. Thirty years ago from Nov 4, 2010 is mighty damn close to Nov 3, 1979. It was Chief Miller that made the thirty year claim and nobody else. The claim he makes is silly because he has no idea what all has gone on in Greensboro for the past thirty years regarding disciplinary action in the police department.
In the video, Miller is deservedly chastised for making his thirty year claim by a local preacher. The preacher then goes on to make a comment regarding present day issues within the black and Latino communities. The preacher is immediately cut off by Miller and Miller begins another temper tantrum about how he is not going back to 1979. The preacher reminds Miller that it was Miller that went back 30 years and nobody else. Miller then says he was talking about the disciplinary policy.

Miller claimed that he knows the disciplinary policy has been followed one way for the past thirty years. I just don't think it was very smart of him to say that at all. I really think it was a bad time to say it when he did.
Miller constantly claims that he is not looking back to the past but he habitually does it. I never once mentioned anything about any past allegations about anyone when I emailed Miller. I asked about required hourly work for a police captain and I asked about Hinson's half way house. Miller immediately responded by telling me that if my concerns lingered from past allegations I should understand that none of them were sustained and many were unproven. That is not true.
I will get an answer from the police department regarding what Miller has reviewed to base his strong opinions regarding the 30 year history of the Greensboro Police Department as well as the allegations regarding James Hinson.

I wonder what personnel at The North Carolina Training and Standards would think. Maybe just maybe they should be informed.
