I have received information from the city that helped me further prove that a Greensboro Police Officer got away with a hit and run and wasn't even punished for it.
Brett Davis went to Kick Back Jacks and hit a car on his way out of the parking lot. People on the scene called the police and reported the hit and run. Brett drove to his house in the county and went inside. Because the license plate # of his car showed the owner lived in the county, the GCSD responded.
When the deputy arrived at Brett's house he felt the hood of the car and it was warm and he also noticed damage done to his car. However, the deputy was unable to get Brett to the door. The deputy decided to get the GPD involved because it was one of their officers.
Brett opened the door holding a beer when the GPD knocked and somehow his hit and run became a non issue and Brett wasn't even given a slap on the wrist.
If that had been Jorge Cornell or myself, we would have been charged with hit and run at the very least. Many people are saying Brett was driving while under the influence and that was why he didn't stop when he hit the car on his way out of the parking lot.
Which hurts the tax payer most: Hit and run (allegedly while intoxicated) or getting kicked out of a council meeting for not giving your name? The police department obviously thinks the council kick out is much worse. Why is no other media on this? Hello?

Does that leave the owner of the other car stuck with the cost of their repairs? Without a police report, their insurance probably will decline any benefits.
this is not good especially with all the litigation going on.. if he did this he should not be working any longer..
But then again others have done worse and are still working..
Its a double standard.. Supervisors are never held accountable... So he dodged the DWI, but the hit and run did in fact happen... Admit to it and admit to a criminal offense, or lie and get held for untruthfulness... Either way hes still employed... If a regular police officer did they would they still have a job? The answer is NO.. Hey at least Charles Cherry didnt break the law.....
